How has Pope Benedict XVI’s motu proprio “Summorum Pontificum” increased the availability of the ancient Mass in the United States? National Catholic Register writer Trent Beattie explores this topic in an article that features extensive commentary by Mary Kraychy, executive director of the Coalition in Support of Ecclesia Dei. On Sunday, October 28, 2012, Traditional Catholics who are concerned with the growing belligerence toward the rights of the Church, the mounting threats to the free exercise of conscience, and the impending negative implications of the HHS mandate, are planning to gather around the country for public outdoor Processions of the Blessed Sacrament in honor of Christ the King. Through these processions, Catholics will publicly exert the social kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ and pray for the protection of religious liberty as well as the spiritual well-being of the nation and its leaders.

The board and members of Una Voce America mourn the passing of friend, mentor and spiritual guide, Fr. Raymond V. Dunn, S.J. who died at his home in Palo Alto, CA on June 3, 2012.
Fr. Dunn was one of the earliest supporters of Una Voce America and worked for several decades to promote the offering of the traditional Latin Mass in California. He was a voice of Catholic orthodoxy and tradition during an era when it was rare to find any priests willing to commit time and effort to the preservation of the traditional Mass, and Fr. Dunn travelled widely through the West Coast, offering Mass and supporting Latin Mass communities.
Fr. Dunn was also the founder of the St. Peter Claver Society, a charitable organization dedicated to offering financial support for Catholic seminarians.
He also served on the board of the Cardinal Kung Foundation and worked to gain support for persecuted Catholics in China and elsewhere around the world.
Fr. Dunn was also an attorney and he offered his legal service to defend the pro-life movement and offer assistance to Catholic priests and others who could not afford legal advice.
For a number of years, Fr. Dunn generously supported Una Voce Palo Alto as founding president and an active member.
We ask your prayers for him with thanks for his devoted service to God and the Church for so many years.
May he rest in peace.

On July 24, five cloistered Carmelite nuns arrived in Canyon, California where their new foundation – Carmel of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph – is being established. The nuns left the Carmelite monastery in the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska because that community had exceeded its limit of 21 women. In their beautiful new setting in the Diocese of Oakland, the five nuns hope to build a full monastery, capable of housing 21 community members. Without Msgr. Schons’ tireless efforts, Sacramento’s magnificent traditional parish, St. Stephen the First Martyr, might never have come to fruition. Read more >
