Una Voce Canada Mourns Loss of Longtime Director

Una Voce is sad to announce that Marlene Manion – longtime director, officer, and benefactor of Una Voce Canada – passed away on August 16, 2012. Ms. Manion was a
founding member of Saint Clement’s parish in Ottawa, and a Dame of the Order of Saint Gregory the Great by bestowal of Pope John Paul II, on the recommendation of His Grace, Marcel A. Gervais, then-archbishop of Ottawa. Please pray for the repose of her soul. Read the obituary >

Diocese of Oakland Establishes New Carmel

On July 24, five cloistered Carmelite nuns arrived in Canyon, California where their new foundation – Carmel of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph – is being established. The nuns left the Carmelite monastery in the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska because that community had exceeded its limit of 21 women. In their beautiful new setting in the Diocese of Oakland, the five nuns hope to build a full monastery, capable of housing 21 community members. Santa Rosa Diocese Moves Latin Mass to Cathedral

Catholic faithful in Santa Rosa, California, now have the blessing of assisting at the traditional Latin Mass at St. Eugene’s Cathedral in Santa Rosa. Effective immediately, the once-a-month Sunday evening Mass in the small town of Sebastopol has been moved and replaced with a weekly Mass at St. Eugene’s. Beginning August 12, 2012, High Mass at St. Eugene’s will be every Sunday at 1:30 PM. Beginning August 21, 2012, there will also be a Low Mass every Tuesday at 5:30 PM. And beginning September 2, 2012, there will be Solemn Vespers and Benediction every Sunday at 4:30 PM.
