Fr. Raymond V. Dunn, S.J., M.A., STL, J.D., OSJ, Requiscat in Pace

The board and members of Una Voce America mourn the passing of friend, mentor and spiritual guide, Fr. Raymond V. Dunn, S.J. who died at his home in Palo Alto, CA on June 3, 2012.

Fr. Dunn was one of the earliest supporters of Una Voce America and worked for several decades to promote the offering of the traditional Latin Mass in California.  He was a voice of Catholic orthodoxy and tradition during an era when it was rare to find any priests willing to commit time and effort to the preservation of the traditional Mass, and Fr. Dunn travelled widely through the West Coast, offering Mass and supporting Latin Mass communities.

Fr. Dunn was also the founder of the St. Peter Claver Society, a charitable organization dedicated to offering financial support for Catholic seminarians.

He also served on the board of the Cardinal Kung Foundation and worked to gain support for persecuted Catholics in China and elsewhere around the world.

Fr. Dunn was also an attorney and he offered his legal service to defend the pro-life movement and offer assistance to Catholic priests and others who could not afford legal advice.

For a number of years, Fr. Dunn generously supported Una Voce Palo Alto as founding president and an active member.

We ask your prayers for him with thanks for his devoted service to God and the Church for so many years.

May he rest in peace.
