New Latin Mass Location Announced in West Virginia

Catholics in West Virginia can give thanks for a new location for the traditional Latin Mass. Fr. J. Stephen Vallelonga has graciously offered to host the Extraordinary Form of the Mass at his parish church of St Patrick’s in Weston, West Virginia.

The Latin Mass will be celebrated once a month for six months at 4 pm on each of the following Sundays of 2011:

  • June 26
  • July 31
  • August 28
  • September 25
  • October 30
  • November 27

Fr. Timothy J. Grassi will be traveling the country roads from Thomas, West Virginia to celebrate the Mass. You can see photos of this sparkling old church that retains its high altar by visiting the parish website.

Choir/Schola members are welcome and needed, as well as organists. Please offer your help by contacting Mary Tillman at 304 745 5428 or 304 669 5206. Altar boys or men either experienced or wanting to learn may contact Fr. Grassi at 304 463 4488.

This is a tremendous opportunity for the faithful to attend a Latin Mass in a good location just off the central corridor of West Virginia I-79 (exit 99 for Weston) in Lewis County. Please spread the word. We ask each of you for prayers, petitioning success for this endeavor. We also hope and pray that local priests will fall in love with the Ancient Rite and continue to offer it here beyond the planned six months.
