Meeting with Cardinal Ratzinger, October 13, 2003 On Monday, October 13, a delegation of the International UNA VOCE Federation (FIUV), led by the two honorary presidents Dr. Eric M. de Saventhem and Mr. Michael Davies, and the new president, Ralf Siebenbürger, had the opportunity to visit the prefect of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, His Eminence Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger. During the half-hour meeting, His Eminence confirmed that the Roman Curia is working on a solution to facilitate the implementation of the motu proprio “Ecclesia Dei” in dioceses in which petitioners have encountered obstacles in obtaining permission for celebrations of the traditional rite. The Cardinal did not specify details of this solution. Concerning the two different texts in Latin of the encyclical “Ecclesia de Eucharistia”, the Cardinal confirmed that the version published in the Acta Apostolicae Sedis is the correct one, and the text published by Vatican Typographs in a booklet which has appeared on the web on the homepage of the Holy See is wrong.
