Solemn High Mass Marks Centennial of Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament

On March 8, 2011, the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Washington DC will celebrate its parish centennial with a Solemn Votive Mass in Honor of the Most Holy Eucharist. Following the Mass, the Te Deum (Hymn of Thanksgiving) will be sung. The ordinary of the Mass will be the Missa Sancti Nicolai by Franz Joseph Haydn, featuring full choir and orchestra. Lancaster (PA) Latin Mass Mission Reaches Out to Area Catholics

New Latin Mass Announced in Syracuse Diocese

Beginning October 3, 2010, the Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form) will be offered each Sunday at 8:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Verona N.Y., by Fr. Edmund Castronovo, pastor.

Verona is located at Exit #34 of the NYS Thruway, and the church is on Main Street, opposite the elementary school.

For many years, Fr. Castronovo was celebrant for the Solemn High Mass at the Auriesville Pilgrimage for Restoration.  He has also assisted at the diocese’s eastern regional Latin Mass in Utica, the future of which is uncertain at this time.

Mass of the Ages Returns to the Tri-State Area

Father Timothy Grassi will offer Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 5:00 pm at St. Joseph Church in Huntington, West Virginia. Gregory Gray, organist, and a group of talented singers from the Charleston area will provide the musical and vocal portions for which the Sung High Mass is noted. There will also be a short outdoor procession.
